Mindfulness

Weekly sessions on meditation, mindfulness and relaxation.

Key goals:

1. Develop awareness of personal triggers and habitual reactions, and learn ways to create a pause in this seemingly automatic process.

2. Change our relationship to discomfort, learning to recognize challenging emotional and physical experiences and responding to them in skillful ways.

3. Foster a nonjudgmental, compassionate approach toward ourselves and our experiences.

4. Build a lifestyle that supports both mindfulness practice and recovery.

Relapse Prevention training

A course focussing on the tools and techniqies to help those in early recovery to remain substance free for the medium to long term - stopping can be relatively easy, but staying stopped is the real challenge

SMART Recovery

SMART (Self Management and Recovery Training) is a programme that provides training and tools for people who want to change their problematic behaviour.

The 4-Point Programmeis the foundation and building blocks of SMART.  Many of the tools and techniques can be used not only for your recovery journey, but to help you deal with future problems and achieve more satisfaction and balance in your life.

The four points are: –

– Building and Maintaining Motivation

– Coping with urges

– Managing Thoughts, Feelings and Behaviours

– Living a Balanced Life

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be abstinent to attend?

We ask that people who attend are respectful to others at The Post, therefore people who are heavily intoxicated may be asked to leave, but we understand that recovery is a journey and laspses do happen such abstinence is not a requiement to attend.

Can I bring a friend or support worker when attending The Post?

The Post is for those in or working towards stable recovery, as such it is a safe space for sharing, we therefore ask for only those dealing with addictive behaviours to attend.

Can I bring a pet?

Unfortunately only service dogs are allowed at The Post

Are you open on weekends / bank holidays / evenings?
